audi 2006 speakers question
I recently gota 2006 audi a4 2.0t. I noticed that it had 10 speakers, two in each door, one in the front and one in the back. I was wondering if that meant it has the upgraded Bose audio system? It did not say Bose or anything on the speakers, so i wasn't sure if they were or if they weren't.
how hard is it to change the factory speakers on the symphony. i put a pretty good sound system in my old car (4 apline Type-R speaks with a pioneer amp, 12" alpine Type-R sub with Alpine amp pushing around 600 watts) and was looking to at least put the door speakers in my car. Obviously i need to check if the speakers work with the A4, but regardless how easy is it to DIY
you are going to need component speakers (just a big word for speakers that come with tweeters) your alpine speakers were coaxial meaning that the tweet was placed in the speaker itself. its gonna be more tricky then your normal 4 speaker install but its defineltly possible
the compnent speakers provided they are the right size will fit where they are supposed to and the reamaining the tweeters should fit where the existing tweeters go. now since generally speaking companent speakers are of higherquality then coaxial speakers your going to want to power then through an amp as well. you can go down two roads, you can get a 5 channel amp which will power your whole car, or a 4 chanel amp for the speakers, and a mopno amp for the subwoofer. price wise, it should come out to be the same however somepeople like to hide the amps and its easier to hide 2 small amps then one amp that resembles a boogey board. also if you still have your type r sub and amp and want to use it then go for it, and get a 4 channel amp, component speakers (i prefer pioneer's but thats just me) a **** load of speaker wire and clear out your weeken cause although its reletively easy to do, its very tedious and long
