Default B7 suspension advice??

I'm looking to improve the handling of my B7 A4 2.0T Q and also want to make it look streamlined with 18" wheels, but not "slammed" to the ground. Just so the wheels fit the damn wells like they should.

I was looking at H&R springs but my dad had them for a 996 he used to have and said it ruined the ride. He suggested Bilstein shocks instead. Any suggestions??

Without coils, Nuespeeds have the softest riding springs with a 1.3 drop or so for the GTI guys I got them because I wanted a cheap near stock feeling ride. H&R sprts were 2nd on the list. Check them out if you are on the thrifty side like me. Turned out Very well for me. Maybe stock sport suspention? My a4 has that and the rear is pretty low but the front is not as low as I had hoped.

Look at Eibach Pro-Kit springs. They have a slight drop over the OEM sport suspension. You'll probably also want spacers then to bring the wheels back out. I'm running 12mm front, 15 mm rear.

Coilovers are not a thrifty option though. Just cause you own an Audi does not mean he isn't on a budjet. I know I am.

BTW I didn't know you had a convertible! So Sexy. My next car not including my wife's will be a 2010 S5 Convertible with the supercharged 6 cyl. AWESOME. Gotta wait 2 years until there are deals on the CPO's.

Thanks for the input everyone; I appreciate it!

I think I'm going to get the wheels first, then check out the gaps and whatnot and decide what to do.

Beautiful cab btw emac.

hey emac I want to ask you about your APR chip, too. have you run into any troubles with your warranty? Has the chip caused any other issues? I'm looking into getting the chip myself with the 93 and stock programs on it and any information would be greatly appreciated.
