Battery life
How long did your cars origninal battery last. Mine without warning died today. it was not quite 4 1/2 years old. It only had 160 CCA of its original 660 CCA ability. When my GLX Jetta's died, I could tell four months in advance that it was dying. That battery lasted 7 1/2 years.
sounds like you did pretty good...where i live down south i change my batteries every 3 years..just dont want the hassle when it dies! i would rather not find out how long my battery will go....back in the day i had to do that...luckily not these days.
I hoped to never wait till death again. When the Jetta's went, it was 18 degree's F out. I had to get jumped and missed my car's scheduled oil change at the dealer. This time there was no warning. not even sluggish starting. I am glad I went to the dealer for the new battery. Changing the battery totally messed up the key fobs. Putting the key in the door with the ignition on and following the instructions did not work. The dealer had to hook up to the computer and reprogram all of that. Even the tech was suprised that the fobs got messed up. Had I had the battery changed anywhere else, the dealer would have most likely charged me to fix the fobs. The dealer was only $10 more for the new battery than Sears price, which suprised me. And of course, two days after I replace the battery, I get a $15 off coupon from Audi to replace the battery. Win some, loose some.

Mines a 06' with 76K. Bought it last year 7/09 with 65k OEM battery still in car.
And it was a pretty cold past winter in Maryland and still started up quick. Wonder what makes car batteries go in 3 years?
