bose subwoofer upgrade
Hey guys,
I blew the subwoofer in my 07 s-line -_- I was wondering if anyone has had any experience replacing the woofer unit and or the amp?
My first thought was to buy a new bose woofer assembly, but then I started to wonder if it were possible to replace the actual speaker in the assembly with an aftermarket 8" or 10" or whatever it is inside there?
Then I started to wonder if I could upgrade the amp at all, does the stock amp only power the subwoofer or does it run to the door speakers as well?
I guess what it comes down to is that I'd like to upgrade, but I don't want to add a box unit in my trunk. Ideally I'd like to leave everything as stock looking as possible?
Any info or insight would be aammaazziinn
Thanks

the stock sub is 8". the amp powers:
-the two 6.5" door speakers and tweeters
-the back two 6.5" speakers and tweeters
-the sub
i'd look at getting an aftermarket sub. it might end up costing the same as the original. the only time i would change the amp is if i upgraded the head unit and possibly the speakers too.
i'd take out the sub and make sure the new one has a depth that doesn't exceed the stock one. if it is too deep, it won't be able to fit cleanly in the factory sub box. an easy DIY.

Awesome... I will look into it today. I guess I will pass on the amp upgrade then and just focus on the subwoofer. I guess I was getting kinda greedy anyway haha
I'll let you know what I figure out. Thanks for the info, I appreciate it.
