If you want OEM call an Audi dealer parts dept. Just takes a few minutes and you'll get their prices. While there ask them how much to install.

I huad a cheap little socket attachment that had many sides and cube shaped. Different grooves on each side for different brakes. That turns the piston buy i had to use a clamp to compress the piston. It is a turning and compressing motion clockwise at the same time.

I believe you can rent a piston compressor kit from someplace like Autozone. I tried the cube attachment and it was a little difficult to both turn and compress the piston. Also I had to modify it to make it work. I finally used my buddies snap-on kit which made it a 5 minute job.

You need to turn the piston all the way in (clockwise) and bottom it out. If it is not all the way in you won't be able to install the new pads.

you shouldn't have to force it, I've seen the cube things but FWIW and for how many brake jobs I will do it is worth the $40 buying the kit....How do you know if it is done right? Well if it is done wrong you are going to need a new caliper @ ~$400 from Audi and that is the only place you can get them from as far as I know...

You can get rebuilt calipers for $50-$60 each either fronts or rears. As for new fronts you can get ATE new calipers for around $280. Many aftermarket suppliers sell them. FYI
