Default Cam Chain Tensioner Cost!

To whoever has gotten the job done. how much does it cost? my car sounds like a diesel and its really annoying because it sounds so loud!
how much did the part & the labour cost separately?
I have seen online the dealer is charging over a $1000 to get this fixed.
Please tell me there is a cheaper alternative out there

For a 2.0 liter engine the cam chain tensioner is 06F-109-217-A and retails for 163.00, your price would be 121.27 dollars. You can try to find that part cheaper but I would be worried about the quality of the part, specifically the plastic pads on the top and bottom of the tensioner. You can google that part number I gave you and see what I mean when you see the picture of the part. We sell OEM Audi parts, with one year and 12k miles parts warranty.

With that repair bill at 1000 dollars I wonder if they are doing other work to the engine while in there? If you have a 3.2 v6 that figure seems too low for this kind of work for cam chain related issues.

Anyway, there is an answer to the parts price question for you. I checked Alldata and the labor rate to replace that tensioner, again for a 2.0, is 5.5 hours at whatever your dealer labor rate is. Still seems it should be lower than the quote you mentioned.
