I thought my 130,000mi Toyota had creaks and rattles; this is way worse! Bumps, turns, acceleration, braking and uneven surfaces like driveway entrances cause horrible snap-crackle-pop sounds from the roof and all six pillars. What is this, chassis flex!?!? Sometimes while completely motionless at a stoplight, a loud crack will come from one of the A-pillars for no reason and scare the hell out of me.

The noises come out when it is hot outside (thermal expansion?).

I live in Florida......


I bought this 2008 A4 2.0T with 40k on the clock and have put almost 1000mi on it. I don't know how many more miles I can do. Can the dealer fix this under warranty? Please help me by sharing your experiences if we have this in common.

 

its usually the wind deflector hitting the glass. Theres a special grease thats suppose to fix it. it usually does.

The dealer should be able to fix it.
