CVT Multitronic 01J A4 2.0 TDi
Hi Guys!
I am new to this site so please bare with me and thanks for taking the time reading this.
2006 Audi A4 2.0 TDi CVT
My previous multitronic (7spd) transmission have failed me and ended up buying an salvaged gearbox that is in 100% working condition. What happens now is the transmission engages at 3000rpm, sliping and sometimes does not drive.
Fault codes are translated to "clutch slipping". (I had the TCU reprogrammed)
I then realized that the original gearbox code (gyj) did not match the salvaged gearbox code (jzg)
the two gearboxes looks exactly the same from the outside to a pinch. I suspect that the salvaged gearbox has the 6 plate clutch whereas the original one has a 7 plate clutch. In theory, if I replace the salvaged gearbox's clutch with my original clutch, will it work or does the gearbox have to have the same transmission code as original? Both transmission TCU's are in perfect condition and even tried my original TCU on the salvaged gearbox and gives the same problem. PLEASE advise as no-one can give me an direct answer.
It will be greatly appreciated for any feedback!!
