The dealer's service advisor says no worries
but the local mechanic says otherwise(he said it was the pressure plate) but I told him I feel it when I load the engine with the car not moving and he too shrugged. My 2008 A4 Quattro MT6 has 56K miles and a vibration.
-The vibration is only felt in the clutch pedal
-It's felt under load and while at idle IF the engine is loaded
-Idling I turn on AC and the clutch pedal vibrates
-Idling w/AC OFF I load Alt using power seat(holding it until the seat reaches maximum height and then not letting off control) and the clutch pedal vibrates
-No AC, no loads usually nothing felt(not always)
-No steering wheel vibration or other pedal vibration or dash vibration - isolated to the clutch pedal
-Dealer says normal, blames it on a hefty AC compressor
-I asked why it's felt with AC OFF then and the answer reverted to the FSI is a noisy car - blah blah blah
I've changed the plugs, no MIL flash, new air filter and extremely frustrated - my B6 never had a vibration in the clutch pedal!!!

its actually the flywheel. But you might as well replace the clutch while your at it.
The dealer you work with is horrible. You have a variable output A/C compressor.... which means even when its switched off, its technically still working. Though it is feasibly possible. I have trust my experience with your input that you honestly believe it to be in the clutch assembly.

I would have said flywheel or throwout bearing. Always replace the whole clutch pack when taking apart. You are due for a clutch anyway. A better disk would be recommended if you have any power upgrades. I used to ACT pressure plates and stock disks when I owned manuals.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I have a certain level of reservation about the writer advising me on the vehicle. He told the chatter pin on my passenger side front brake caliper fell off because I used aftermarket brake pads and therefore the loss wouldn't be covered warranty. That is a different story for a different time though.
I believe I am going to take my A4 to the VW dealer this time and let them look. They have some very seasoned VAG guys both writing and repairing and I feel I may get more accurate results dealing with one of them with regards to this vibration. I understand why both replies advised to go ahead and renew the clutch assembly when working on the flywheel. Is there anything more specific you might be able to provide me with that I can explain to the VW guys about why the flywheel would be causing(not that they might not know anyways) the clutch pedal vibrations when the car is not even moving?
