Default Dipped Head Light Failure

The last issue I've been having with my 2006 A4, is occasionally, my head lights will flicker and then go out. Only when I am braking. Then the reader comes on the dash saying I have a "Right(or Left) dipped Headlight".

I do not know the reason for this, is it simply a connection problem? Or do I need to replace the entire headlight fixture? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just need to replace the bulb. That's what HID's do when they're on their way out.

Thanks a bunch for the heads up! This may be a stupid question, but does the whole casing need to be replaced, or is there an easy way to get in there and replace just the bulb? Do you know of any handy online tutorials that exist?

Again, thanks so much!

Just the bulb. This helped me....I was able to do it without moving the power steering or intake around. It was tight but not too painful.
