Hi I recently bought an Audi A4 Avant 2.0 TDI SE 2007 plate but did not get the manual. The light on the lock on the drivers side door flashes every 3 seconds when locked. Is this normal or is it indicative of something wrong?

I've seen others here saying they can't figure out how to lock the XV without triggering the alarm. The first time I went kayaking, I managed to get it right just on dumb luck. But the next couple of times, the alarm went off when I opened the door. So, I decided to RTFM and finally figured out how to make this work. Caveats: This is on a 2018 with old-school key entry. I believe it's applicable to earlier generations and those with proximity keys also, but I cannot confirm.
