I was looking at this one I found for my car.... http://www.ecodetuning.com/shop/cart...t_detail&p=554, but at the end of the page it says it is illegal for street use. Are there Downpipes out there that are legal and what makes them illegal? Thanks and I'll appreciate and comments by you all.

 

It bypasses the the catalytic converter... that's what makes it illegal. That's also the whole point of a test pipe, so if you want to stay legal you need to just get a high-flow cat instead.

 

it removes the cat entirely.....there are other downpipes that contain high flow cats like paul was saying....butttt they don't really drop the back pressure much


imo, take the risk....save the old downpipe and swap it when u get ur emissions done pass emissions then put the new test pipe on and enjoy
