Default Fog light bulb question

I have stock halogen headlights in my 2007 a4 I bought recently and have found a projector housing and 8000K HID kit I want to replace the headlights with. So, next I want to replace my fog light bulbs to match the 8000K color of the new headlights. When I search for a4 fog light bulbs on google and ebay, everything I get is H11 xenon bulbs. This may be kind of a dumb question, but I am assuming the stock bulbs in the fog lights are not xenons right? If they aren't xenons, do I need to install a second HID kit for the fog lights with 8000K bulbs also? Or is there an alternative to doing this to get the 8000K output from the fog lights?

In the case that the stock fog light bulbs are xenons and I only need to replace the bulbs, then I assumed wrong and am dumb.

Stock fog lights are halogen. You would have to get a HID kit.

Can I put the upgraded xenon bulbs in the same fog light housing? Also, is something like this an alternative to upgrading to HID? These seem to be halogens.

...Sorry, I am pretty ignorant when it comes to this topic.

Well, I think in addition to the bulb you also need to install a HID ballast if you're going that route.

But the halogen bulbs you linked would be an alternative. I have xenon-match fogs from Hoen, which match the stock xenon headlights very well.

Awesome, great to hear. I may just end up using 'xenon-match' halogens like the ones above for my headlights and my fog lights and just save up some cash for now. I'm a college student and this way I can still afford my books next quarter too. Thanks for your help. rep-up.

Ha ha, yeah... I'd have to say college should be slightly more important than making your car look good at this point.

I've just upgraded the fogs on my A4 B8 from the standard yellow ones with MTEC 4350K H11's and I have to say they're a good match. They are available in the UK and dont cost as much as the Hoen imports. I would suggest anyone looking to upgrade the fogs who doesnt want to mess around with resistors and wiring to use these.
