Hi.

I have a 2006 audi a4 b7 sline tdi and when im driving around the fuel cap is open. When the car is locked from out side the cap is also locked. But it isnt locked when im driving around. Do you know if this is a fault with the locking mechanism or if its a fault with the central locking?

Are you talking your fuel DOOR or the fuel CAP that you physically take off to fuel up? I'm assuming it's your fuel door so my guess would be the mechanism. That's purely a guess based on the logic of your explanation. Try this scenario: With your car locked from the outside, unlock the car but just the driver door (push the unlock button once) that should leave everything else including your fuel door locked. Then go drive around and see if you get the same result or not. If it were central locking, I would think it would act up all the time no matter what. Maybe someone else will chime in too

 

Finally found the problem today and it turns out the spring has fell out and apparenatelt i need a whole new fuel flap which will be £100 alltogether incuding the flap being sprayed
