If the problem is at the point where the pump and follower need replacing, then the intake cam will probably need repacing too. Very expensive.

You can buy the cam follower from ECSTuning for $50 and do it yourself, it's a pretty simple job. They also have fuel pumps, check out this page:

http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-B7_A4-...T/Engine/Fuel/

However, if you have the dealer do all this it will be expensive like B7Night said.

well. last time it stated comming up (bout a year ago). i changed the fuel filter... didnt really help...... i dono here this is a problem with the b7s..... but i have had the car to 2 dealers and i guy i go to who specailizes in audis.. and they all said nothing was wrong with the car..... indy guy actualy tested my pump (which was the dealers next step.... bout 500.......)... he said he ran it through all the specks. and pump. in his opinion isnt whats cuzing it. so i dono.. i was gonna change the follower. since its the orignal one and see if that helps... i just remember indy guy sayin it could have sumthing to do with the intake something.... but he made it like it wasnt major. work idk.. just tryin to gather ideas here
