Question Glovebox wiring help needed for connecting to phone music

I bought my 2007 Audi A4 3.0 S-Line (Bose) a few months ago, and didn't pay enough attention to the ipod connection set-up in the glovebox. instead of the expected MMI connector, there are just a couple of cables, including a serial connection :-0. See attached.

Can anyone demystify what I have here? I bought an MMI to bluetooth dongle ViseeO Tune2Air WMA3000A Bluetooth Adapter for Streaming iPod/iPhone/iPad to Audi/Mercedes/VW with Factory iPod/Media Input | Viseeostore
which obviously doesnt fit. There is no CD changer in the trunk, just the Bose amp. Any idea what can be done to hook up my phone's music?

Thanks!

Mine looks nothing like that. I have an iPod 4 style connector in mine. I bought an iPhone 4 extension cord, a 12v to 5v adapter to make phone charge. Then I used a 30 pin to lightening adapter to use my phone. Music plays perfect and you can still skip songs from steering wheel controls.

can you shoot a pic of your cord set up? I'm unsure of the kinds of cords your naming, I need a visual. Excuse my ignorance. Hahaha. I'd like to be able to hook up my Samsung Galaxy s7 to listen to music. Thanks for your time. Also it has a micro sb hook up, or the regular headphone jack also.

looks like someone did some modifying. my car has the factory 30pin ipod connector and it goes in that lil box/hole where your wires are. idk why there is a serial cable but the other looks like the factory one that goes to the ipod hookup. if you can find the original ipod connector, you can get a Grom cable (ipod female to 3.5mm headphone jack) online for relatively cheap.

No, that's what I have. The 30 pin iPod connection. I'll look for the cord you mentioned. Thanks a lot.

Oh OK that's great, just look on amazon or eBay. Definitely the cheapest way and you can use anything with a 3.5mm jack.
Just switch the head unit to CD12 like usual

There was a harness that Audi use to sell that plugged into the radio, and ran into the glovebox. You could connect your 30 pin IPod to it, I'm guessing you could use if for an iPhone, or get an adapter for an IPhone with the lightning connector. You had to disconnect the SirrrusXM radio connector from the radio and use that port for the IPod. You may have to look at aftermarket sites, or eBay as it's not on Audi's site anymore. You could control up to 5 playlists from the radio if I remember right.
