Was getting the occasional P2181 code. Scangauge said coolant running about 187 . Temp rose slowly but would get to middle.
After Timing Belt, Water Pump and Thermostat - gets warm quicker, still middle of gauge - but Scangauge says 207, Thinking old stat was probably stuck open. Is 207 too hot?

 

i had an bad thermostat that stayed open and the car ran around 170-180 at best in the summer. replaced it and now its right at 200 (the middle hashmark) i have a 2008 2.0T.
what engine do you have? 207 sounds reasonable

 

I have an '07 2.0T. The temp gauge sits right at 12:00 so I guess I won't worry about it. Just seemed a bit weird it would change that much.
