Question Issue: RPM and Shifting.

Hello - appreciate any advice:

2008 Audi B7 Manual 2.0 Turbo.

I've noticed the RPM’s when I’m sitting idle with my foot off the gas will gradually climb to about 1,500 RPM by itself and just sit there.
Can’t figure out how to reproduce it and doesn't happen all the time.

Also the RPM’s climb briefly when shifting between 2 & 3 gear even when your foot is off the gas. Happens right when I depress the clutch.

Thought there was maybe something wrong with the gas so let the tank run almost dry and tried a different station.

Recently my cruise control computer quit and that was replaced.

I asked the dealer and not heard back yet but wanted to hear if anyone had seen/experienced this.
Thanks,
-Kat

I had the same problem. My clutch switch that kills the cruise when you hit the clutch went bad. So I lost cruise, and the RPMs started racing a bit when shifting between any gear from 2nd up, and dropping super fast between 1st and 2nd. When the switch was fixed, an $84.19 repair, everything started working again like it should.

The clutch switch (the one that releases when pressing the clutch) would be my first guess, and B7Night seems to confirm that.
