Just did an oil change on my 08 A4 2T and now am getting a low oil pressure light. I used a Mobil 1 filter and thought it looked a little different and believe this is the problem. Quick stupid question - can I change the filter w/o draining out the main oil - ? I'm not sure if the oil will continue to come out of the filter area since I always drain it first before removing the filter.

 

Not sure where the filter is located but if it is below the oil pan than yes it will still run out.

 

Ok I found out for myself - you can chnage the filter w/o much additional oil coming out, no problem. Also, the Mobil 1 filter has some kind of plastic plugs on both ends and these were an issue - filter did not fit correctly.
