making a switch. bye bye audi. :(
well as some of you might remember my car was totalled by my step mom whilst i was in the UK. Basically the insurance did pay out buti cant really afford to replace the car with another the same. (40k)
So ive been looking around this weekend and my decision was swayed towards the 350z or mustang Shelby. (ino ino u can say what you want.)
but now my mind has been made.
some wont like, some might, some will flame but the price is gooood for what you get. so the car... Pontiac G8 GT. its good looking and 6.0L V8 361hp 385lb-ft of torque. fully loaded for only 31k.
so what do you guys think.
(old car: 2008 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro S-line, Nav, Conv. Quarts on black.)
just want to know what people think of the car because its only been out 2 weeks.
thanks,[/align]

If you're really going to blaspheme you might as well get a better Pontiac. Go for the 6.0L GTO with 400hp. That is a much better option if you want to get ravaged on gas mileage. There is nothing classy about a G8. I think a Shelby Mustang would be a much better option too.
Are you going to make your step mom pay for the difference in the cars? Why not get what you really want.

Well, if you absolutely MUST get a pontiac (lowest manufacturer on my list) I would have to agree with the GTO. Although if i recall my pontiac knowledge correctly, the G8 is the new gto... Heres the rundown... A company called Holden makes a car called the Murano. A very nice, well built and speedy car. Its sold as the gto under pontiacs name here in the US. I could be mistaken, but i think the new version is being sold under the g8 flag to keep with the name scheme.
It will be a fun car to drive, butyou dont see too manypontiacs aroundfor a reason.
I wouldnt get it, but if thats the car you want, then you should alwaysget what you want.

in the uk its a vauxhall vxr8
in the us its a pontiac g8 gt
in austrailla (wheres its made) its a Holden commodore
the gto(murano) is like a coupe version. i think its been discontinued in the us.

If it makes you happy, sure. Be prepared to pay alot more for gas! Seems like the G8 got a pretty good review from Car & Driver.
Not sure if you already made your decision yet, but I moved from Audi and got a great deal on a BMW 328xi lease.

Sounds like a really bad idea. Your car will handle like **** feel like **** look like Sh!it so bascially you will be driving ****. But hey at least you have American muscle now! Whatever thats good for!
