its not really about the rear wheel drive or the 361hp v8 engine. seriously go look at the car and you will see. it looks great in person and the interior is stunning! loads of room to must be atleast 20 inchs longer. and 10 wider. i love it. love my audi more but yano.

in the us its a pontiac g8 gt
in austrailla (wheres its made) its a Holden commodore

american company just selling it on.

 

i cant go look at it because then i will want to buy it probably so thats a no go.But im sure you have put alot of research and time into checking out the car. I just hate to see people leave the Audi community especially you since you never even got to drive your car that much.

 

so I'm confused, the insurance company isn't giving you what the car is worth? since it's a new car that should be a good chunk o' change, enough to get you another audi i would think. Personally I haven't seen one in person yet, but (and I can't believe I'm about to say this...) the new G8 actually sounds like a pretty good ride, I'm happy GM is finally rebadging something good from their vast fleet and bringing it here to the US.



Out of curiosity..
Do you mind getting an older car? (to be honest) you could pick up B6 S4 and then you would have a V8 under the hood with the four rings still sitting on the grill. Just my thoughts.

or with that kind of change you could get a very well taken care of Stage III B5S4 and then rape everything on this wonderful earth with 450+ AWHP, but thats is just me thinking out loud.


And this probably will teach you (as it taught me) to never let your parents around your car (I found out the hard way too and it cost me a new hood and front bumper)

 

haha yer. i know what you mean. im not leaving. im still going to visit here daily and my audi will never be forgotten. I had a good enough chance to see my audi for what it was so will be able to give the verdict on the new g8 gt in comparison to the audi. its the little things ill miss: 1 touch windows, really light responsive steering, s-line steering wheel lol, sun visor under mirror, smooth ride. ill let every1 know how the g8 is. and i wont be biased.

No i havent checked out the Zine. My car will probably just stay stock and a DD. I kinda want a TT to mod. But it will be about a month until i make a final choice.

I'd go 350Z. Nissan makes incredibly powerful engines and you will definitely feel it on a launch. It uses the same 3.5L engine found in the altimas and Maximas. I used to have the 2.5 and it could beat a stock 1.8T anyday so, if you're looking for something that looks sexy and is well made (aside from an Audi) get a 350Z. You'll be glad you did

 

my entire family only has Audi's and Subaru's... i would never buy an american car. Thats just me, they haven't shown me too much. The Audi's are just classy sedan sleepers (once you chip them).

 

have you checked out Motor Trend and Car and Driver this month? Both have good reviews of the G8. It's not a handler though...more of a straight line kinda ride. (think RWD Maxima)

I think a gently used S4 would be a good way to go...particularly if you want to stay with Audi.

Ask your stepmom to break out her check book to make up for what funds the insurance co didn't cover.

 

Ok Ik know we're trying to support the guy on his decisions but HEY!!! What happenned to the Nissan 350Z???? I mean it is a WAYYYY BETTER car than the G8! Come on guys... Are you all so against Japanese that you'll go American? Sheesh! I'd go Russian before American LOL
