Hey everyone, first time poster here. I have an 07 A4 B7 with about 212xxx miles and she is still running strong. Recently I had an issue where pretty much everything in my drivers side door has completely stopped working. I can’t roll down the windows, I can’t lock the doors, I can’t adjust the mirrors, etc. furthermore, when the door is open, the car doesn’t register it as open (I don’t get a notification on my dash like I do when other doors are open.)

none of the windows can be rolled down from any door. This is extremely odd to me because the other doors seem to have power. the passenger side door can still lock and unlock with its switch. Moreover, all of the doors lock and unlock when I use my key fob but my drivers side door does not and must be manually locked and unlocked. Finally (I think) the cabin lights stay on all the time unless I have the switch set to always off. It’s as if the lights register that the door is open (even when it’s closed) which keeps the lights on but nothing else in the car registers it as open at all. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

 

Check for a broken wire in the bundle that goes through the rubber sleeve to the driver’s door. I had this exact issue a couple of months ago and that’s what I found. Annoying but relatively simple fix. Good luck!
