MPG for A4
Hi guys
Just recently bought a 2008 A4 TFSI. Previously had a Passat 1.9 TDI (03 plate).
I know Petrol cars generally give you less mileage than Diesels but didn't expect it to be this juicy. I usually put in £40 from empty and got around 250 city miles in the passat but the Audi is giving me around 180. So 70 miles less in a car which is 5 years newer.
Does this seem about right?

£40 to fill from empty? At your gasoline prices, your tank must be tiny. You are missing some key info there. How many gallons is that in 180 miles?
I tend to get about 15 gallons in my tank when it's close to empty. I can go anywhere from 300-340 miles (mixed driving) on that. This works out to about 22-23mpg which is what I've been getting almost the entire 7 years I've owned it (I have a spreadsheet--the total amount I've spent on gasoline in that time is horrifying). Strict highway driving, my car has been known to push 30-32mpg, but highway trips are rare for me these days.
What is your calculated (not from the trip computer) MPG?

I still don't know how many gallons that is, but it's a little less than 3/4 the miles I'm getting on a full tank. Calculate your MPG and I'd say if it's anything over about 18 mpg with full city driving, you're probably doing fine.
I didn't know they made a 1.8L in 2008. We haven't had a 1.8L here in the states since 2005 (although, the new 2013+ A3 comes in a 1.8L now).
