Default New with a question?

New to the forum, I have a 2007 audi a4 convertible 2.0 tdi sline. The car is average mileage and used everyday and I have had no problems with it at all in the 3 years of owning it. But recently on the display screen which shows MPG there is a number 1 displayed in the top right corner. This has never been on the car before and I cent seem to find any information in the handbook.

What does this number 1 mean and why has it come on all of a sudden?

thanks

Time for a service visit, or a friend with a VAG-COM.

you dont need a vagcom or mechanic.
that is simply the first data log (trip meter). the computer has two separate meters, one for 'trip' that resets after the car has sat for two hours or more. the second one is more like a lifetime meter that does not reset unless you do it manually.
i assume you know how to scroll thru the different data (miles left, mpg, avg speed etc) and on that stalk there should be a button on the bottom that says 'reset'. if you press it once it goes to the second set (lifetime) and press it a second time to get to the computer menu. here you can set things like tire pressure and radio display, you can also choose which meters to display when you scroll thru them. press a third time or scroll to exit to get back to the trip meters. if you want to reset any of the meters, just scroll to it and hold the reset button until it shows 0.
let me know if this doesnt make sense and ill upload some pics of mine to clarify.
