Default Oil Leak/Usage (no, not another usage discusion)

Ok, I replaced my PCV and diverter valve on my 2008 2.0. Before doing that the car used less than a quart every 5k miles. Since replacing I am going though a quart about every 600 miles. I am also now seeing oil residue on the engine cover. My question is did I some how muck up installing the PCV or could it be defective? Anyone else experience anything like this?

when did ya do that? did you know that there is a recall/service action for the pcv? maybe throw the old one back on and have the dealership replace it.

I replaced it a few months ago, before the service action came out. Actually, I think I got the papers in the mail with in days of changing it out. Was going to send in for reimbursement. I just wonder if I got a defective value or some how messed up putting it on. My car is now showing the signs of a bad PCV unless something else could be causing it.

does ecstuning have any installation instructions? sometimes they have a pdf for stuff, like the snub mount etc. maybe it needs some silicon sealant or is the gasket bent, torn or kinked?

Was just thinking I need to take a closer look at it. I figure I had to muck something up. Either that or I ended up with a bad valve.
