My b7 has the standard Audi Symphony sound system. Today, for the first time, the rear channel speakers were not responding at all. I had to turn the power on and off a few times before the rear speakers eventually responded. Has anyone had this problem?

I don't know much about the amp used in head unit. How many channels is it? It seems like there would be 4: 1) front door speakers 2) front dash speaker 3) rear door speakers 4) sub... is that correct?

I am trying to isolate the problem by process of elimination. Again, the rear door speakers and sub were not responding. I do listen to the stereo a little on the loud side (about 70% volume). But when the problem surfaced, I started the car for the first time that day... Seems odd!

 

I've had the same problem with my passenger side speaker, after some broken clips and sore fingers I got it off and took the speaker out of the housing and inspected it, turns out a wire in the back was somewhat disconnected at the terminal so I just quickly soldered it back and now it works fine, try checking that if you have some spare time and a lot of spare door clips :P

 

Is it a BOSE system...? Because there is a seperate amplifier. Usually when it comes to multiple speakers at the same time you narrow down the problem by what do they have in common...? Connectors, Amplifiers, The Radio unit itself isn't immune to problems either.

When it does it. Pull the radio fuse in the left fuse panel for 30 seconds with the ignition on and will do a hard reset on the Radio. If it starts working normal after that you have a bad radio. If not.... Your looks at a Amp or wiring issue

My car is currently at the dealership getting looked at. I am fully prepared--and somewhat expecting--them to tell me that it is a bad radio and not covered under the warranty.

If that is the case, I will be looking into getting some sort nav unit as a replacement, since those only run a few hundred bucks more than purchasing a new OEM radio...

 

If your still under the original 4/50 it will be covered. If its CPO / Audi Assured it probably depends on what they find. But i'm pretty sure the Radio is covered, I know the amplifier is
