The driver's side turn signal light has failed on my 2008 A4 Avant. What is needed to replace this bulb? It appears that I need to remove the entire front light assembly. If so, I need some guidance on this procedure.
Update...After further inspections, I noted that the filament in the suspect failed turn signal bulb was intact. Also, as there were 17 views of my post an no responses, I took my A4 to the dealer for expert consultation. My salesman said that he had the same problem on his 2008 A4 so he banged on the hood just above and alongside the failed bulb and it fixed the problem. Next, I the spoke to the mechanics and they advised:
1. The bumper does need to be removed to replace the headlight assembly bulbs. In my view and theirs too, this is not a customer centric design by Audi
2. After time, corrosion builds up on the bulb to socket interface and leads to poor or no electrical signal contact. Most likely, this is the root cause of the problem on my car.

This applies to Xeon lights only. Fortunately the Halogen versions do not need the bumper removed, just various motor compartment components to get to the socket! And no, the headlight bulb/signal replacement on Audi A4 (A3-A8 also?) is not user friendly at all. Funny my wife's baby Benz is also not user friendly when it comes to changing front bulbs either. You need to remove various componets to get to the socket, and have hands of a 5 or 6 year old!
Luckily I got the rear lights figured out, and can do it myself!
