I've had an '06 A4 for about a month. Had an '06 Passat for a short time and bought a VW roof rack for it - fit perfectly and securely. I fitted one side of the roof rack to the Audi and it seems to fit in the roof groove but the end fitting is at a different angle to the cross bar than when on the Passat. It is also a bit too long. My question is, does anyone have experience modifying the cross bar to fit the Audi. It would appear that "perhaps" all that is needed is to cut the cross bar at the angle required and shorten to the needed length. The cross bar is designed to be cut as the installation instructions talk about cutting to fit the VW model it is being used on.

Any experience or comments would be much appreciated.
