my engine idle has not changed since the day i bought the car. i've had the latest PCV installed and i've had a new set of plugs installed. for city driving she idles rough at times. but on the highway the idle is smooth. it's just the nature of the beast.

Fixed a problem permanently but you created another one.
Wait a sec… so you're saying that the bsh pcv fixes one problem and creates another problem? I just got off work and my head isn't really here so im just asking to clarify

Im a first time Audi owner and I began having rough idle issues. I also began having RPM's surging from 1800-2000 while traviling between 25-45mph while the engine was cold. I changed the spark plugs and replaced the air filter and no change. I bought a new PCV valve from ESC tunning hoping it would fix my problem and no luck. But I found the solution to my problem and I am posting this hoping that I can help someone else out. bsh pcv revamp for the B7 2.0 is what fixed my rough idle and RPM surge. It was around $100 and worth every penny. Its an easy install, around 30 min for an avg mechanicly inclined person. If you purchase this item remember to place some lock tigh on the cap screws. If anyone has any questions about the revamp or installation please post and I will try to help in a timely mannor. Good luck friends!!
Is there any way you could update the link for this part. thank you

Default same surge, caused by tranny

I have the same low speed rpm fluctuation in my 08 A4. It's nothing to do with the engine it's a torque converter clutch issue. Only does it when it's cold and only at low speeds. usually putting it in tiptronic mode helps it lock up. There is apparently a leaky valve in the torqu converter that decreases fluid pressure but for whatever reason seal just fine when the fluid warms up.
