Default RPM Hang up

Has anyone had a problem with the RPM's hanging a little longer then they should be when switching gears.

What transmission do you have?

The FWD, automatic models come with a CVT which doesn't really "switch gears."

The quattro models include a typical automatic transmission and I've had no real issues with mine so far. It's not as zippy off the line as the 6-speed manual, but it's nice not having to shift all the time in the traffic we have around here.

9 times out of 10 its doing what its designed to do.

If you have a trans problem.... it will be not going anywhere, slipping, or banging gears.

I have a 6 speed manuel quattro with 25,000 miles on it. It seems after i let off the gas and press the clutch in is when the rpms hang for a little longer then expected or even rises about 500 rpms. If this makes any sense

Clutch could be slipping.

A dual mass flywheel is always going to hang a bit before the rpms drop.
