Default Slow Accelleration-2007 A4 Quattro-Cab

I need help? Car runs great on highway. Burn no oil. It has no takeoff though.
It takes a second or two to get off. I would appreciate any thoughts.
Audi said no problems found when I had warranty now they say its may be turbo valve. Help

Just a hesitation or slow even after boost kicks in? A turbo valve (technically your diverter valve) will throw a code once it's bad enough to underboost. Especially if you floor it.

Do you have an automatic like I do? Hesitation is fairly normal--especially with the kickdown from 2nd into 1st. There's something about that transmission that makes it lag hard (I've had to adjust my driving a bit to compensate for it so as not to get hit) when you hammer the gas from a slow roll in 2nd gear. It may be torque-convertor related (they're a known problem point on these transmissions), but I'm not willing to throw that money at it to see if that's it until it gets much much worse. Even then, I may sell the car first.

Thanks so much! I do have an automatic. Its just a hesitation. And adjust my driving habits indeed. After Audi giving me this nothing found for three years, its great to realize I'm not crazy. I had the diverter valve replaced and I can tell the difference, not a $600.00 difference but a difference.
I want to hold on to the car for a why but not if the cost gets out of hand.
Thanks again

$600?! Please do yourself a favor and find an independent shop that specializes in or knows German makes. It's an $80 part and maybe 30-45 minutes to replace it. I think I paid my mechanic $35 because I didn't have a lift and it was easier to get to from below. It's been a while for me so I don't remember all the details, but $600 is definitely a first-class raping.

Exclamation Fault Code PO234

Hi guys!
I'm off to Audi 7/15. My 2007 A4 Cab was hesitating on highway yesterday Seemed it wasn't getting gas. Took it to a local shop who ran code test. They referred me back to Audi. I think I got some bad gas and since I wasn't going my usual speed, it didnt get fuel. I don't know but after last years bill, I'm looking for some education before I walk in Audi's door.
Thanks in advance,
Adocx

P0234 looks like an overboost code. Sounds like it could be related to your turbo, not fuel. Fuel problems usually come in one of two scenarios with the Audis. Either a P0089 and a high duty cycle on the low pressure fuel pump or a varied selection of codes that indicate your high pressure fuel pump has worn through the cam follower (search the forum for that one, it's such a common problem, most owners that know just swap it out every 15-30k miles as preventative maintenance.

Good luck to you.

KingWuflgar,
Thanks so much. Maybe I should have dealer swap fuel pump out if my bill allows. Dealer is 100 miles away. In your opinion, Any chance of tearing up anything by driving to dealer.
Thanks,

If it's driving fine (not in limp mode, no major misfiring/shuddering), you should be fine. Just take it easy. Sorry you have to drive so far. Do you have a Euro-friendly indie shop nearby? You'll save a ton of money if you're not under warranty anymore.

As for the fuel pump, I would just pay them the diagnostic fee to truly tell you what's wrong. They have to tools and the knowledge to figure it out (most of the time) without throwing expensive parts at a problem. If I recall, they quoted me around $800 for the LPFP and labor. Would've ended up being more too since mine was so crusty, the fitting broke on one of the fuel lines and that fuel line was another $150 (plus more labor). The diagnostic fee (should be around $150 for a basic diagnostic) and figuring out what is really wrong is way better than throwing parts at a problem.

KingWulfgar,
Thanks so very much. We have one or two reliable Euro-friendly shops in my town but majority of shops suggested I go to the dealer. At one time, I had the only Audi in town. This is BMW, Lexis and Mercedes territory. Thanks so much for info. being armed with a little information is an Audi owners best tools walking into a dealer.
I will certainly post results. Have a great weekend.
