I'm new to Audi and to this forum. I'm hoping someone can help me.

I just bought a used 2006 A4 automatic. It has 88,000Km and is in good shape (I had it checked at Audi dealer and did Carfax, etc. I knew when I bought it that the ashtray cover only opened partially. My question is - how do I get at the cover mechanism do repair it? I have tried poking around at it but to no avial. Thr dealer did say that all the dash needs to be removed but is that the case and can I do it myself?

I can't guarantee the dealer was right, but if so you should be able to do it yourself.
