When I bought my 2007 a4 recently, it only came with one key fob. I have read about reprogramming it yourself in the ignition with your original key. I am looking at buying a second one and programming it myself to save some cash from the dealer. I could easily buy an uncut key off ebay, but am having trouble finding a locksmith that can cut it anywhere near me (I live in the middle of nowhere). Recently I found a key on ebay that matches all the numbers on the side of my key except one, and my question is... does one of these numbers indicate the "cut" of the key? and then, if my number matches this "cut", I would think I could buy it and go through the reprogramming process and have a key that works for my a4. Hopefully somebody knows how to tell if this key will fit my car. Thanks.
