Question what idle RPM does your engine run at?

when i went to get my APR flash, the tech noticed my idle RPM was "low"...~850-900. he said most are ~1100. is that true?

When I first start my car it's 1100, after about 1 minute it settles and drops to a steady 800. Normal.

Mine idle's at 750 if the ac compressor is not running, and 800 if it is.

Most tuners are idiots..... they have very little knowledge. They buy these tuners and "play" around with them and charge people because they have more experience.

When in reality they just used map presets and just tweak them little by little without actually knowing what effects they really have on the car

when i first start her up, she's right around 1100. being a turbo, i like to let it run for awhile to warm up in hopes of avoiding any problems. after a couple minutes it drops down to 8/900 and this is usually when i feel it's nice and ready to go.

likewise, when i pull off the freeway, i cruise nice and slow the next couple blocks to the apartment to let the turbo cool down a bit before shutting it off.

you can call me an idiot - but that's what i do and i'm sticking to it.

Starts around 1100-1200 and then drops to 800-900, sounds fine...

there's something to be said about tuners nowadays. the guy knows nothing about or hasn't even drove an audi and yet he's installing software into them.

back in the day, tuning shops were started by mustang people or camaro people for mustangs or camaros. the tuners/owners drove what they serviced.

man, i'm sounding like a grumpy old guy more and more.
