When replacing the struts???
My mechanic told me that one of the struts is leaking on my wife's car. When replacing the struts, what else do you recommend replacing at the same time? My wife's car is a 2006 A4 Quattro 2.0 with 76,000 miles. The shop said you don't have to, but should I have them replace both upper control arms when they replace the struts or is that not necessary with that mileage? If so, there are about 10 different manufacturers of suspension parts-any recommendations for a daily driver? Don't want to cheap out, but don't want to go with Audi parts either.

I would replace the control arms if the rubber bushings or the ball joints are cracking (you can see it with the car up and the wheel off. At that age/mileage, it's a good bet they are. I think I had to replace my upper control arms at around 90k miles.
No guidance on brands--I just went with whatever the indie shop I used put in--but make sure they're torqued under load. Otherwise, they wear out prematurely.
