On my way back home from work today my 07 A4 2.0T CVT began making a loud whining/screeching noise when decelerating. I pulled over and shut the engine off. I turned the engine back on with the hood upandIcould hear the noise coming from behind/underneath the engine. When I got home I raised the car to hear from below and as best I can tell it's coming from the transmission. I'm taking the car into the stealership tomorrow. If anybody has any ideas on what it could be I'd really appreciate it. I hate showing up at the stealership without a clue. I did experiencing a slight loss of power and the engine sputters a bit when staring. The car has just over 21K... I change the oil every 3K, (very bad experience with a 1.8T passat).

 

Just let the dealer take care of it through the warranty. Sounds like a tranny problem or a turbo problem. Your internals shouldn't make that type of noise.

 

I know this thread is old but did you ever get it fixed...or kept the car afterward?
