You already have a low-flow cat. You would want a high-flow cat. I have an 034 HFC. They claim it will pass the sniff test, but I have not had to test that claim yet. If you're in a state that just uses OBD II checks, you'll be fine with APR stage 2.

I just installed the RAI Test Pipe yesterday in my driveway. Very solid design. Got the J-bung and used the largest holed spacer and have driven about 200 miles now without a single CEL. Took about 2.5-3hrs. Put the car on ramps. The only issue is the ramps don't get the rear of the car up above the ground so you really have to get clever to get the downpipe and the test pipe out. I also threw in a k&n drop in filter and cleaned out the air box which was littered with leaves and dead grass. The car is definitely more throatier and has noticeable more pull. More low end torque was also noticed. Looking to do the stage 2 APR in the next couple weeks

APR is on sale right now, but does anyone recall how often they have their stuff on sale? Just in case I cannot get it done in the next few weeks ... I'd like to know how long I'll have to wait for the goods to go back on sale...

It seems they usually have sales 2-3 times a year.

it's not as bad as i thought it would be. i usually go ~350 km on the top half of the tank on the highway. that's cruise control ~95% of the time. this last time it went 320 km. the acceleration is absolutely amazing.

Fuel economy is normal. Just sounds a little ricey. Has anyone had any experience with an aftermarket exhaust getting rid of this ricey sound and making it richer/classier. I wasn't looking to have a loud nasty sounding car and quite frankly I don't like to like to get on the throttle b/c its embarrassing. I am in no way bashing any product, just not what I thought the sound would be. Any thoughts/suggestions?

I appreciate the help, gents.

i've been looking into the AWE after-cats. before that i was looking at milltek but i don't think they make pipes to fit an 07 A4 quattro tip.

Ihonestly have not heard of one with just a test pipe swap actually getting loud. These cars have very quiet exhausts. If there is room you can install a straight through design resonator or muffler. That will tone it back down. I have used dynomax bullet mufflers as resonators. The longer it is the quieter it will be, so just measure a space you could have cut out of the stock exhaust.
