Default Why does my dealer re-flash my ecu with service?

I took my '06 2.0 in for 25k service and alignment today. On the invoice it looks as though they re-flashed my ecu. I'msure they did the same at my 15k. I didn't catch it on the invoice until I got home, so I didn't get to ask 'em what its all about.

Are they resetting the service light, or are they making sure my ecu is stock? My car isn't chipped, so no problem there. However, I'm thinking of chipping it and worry the dealer might undo the program at each service. (even if its locked)

Anyone else see this?

No there was several TSB's out for the 2.0T motor for both static miss-fires and the intake flap motor that needed software re-flashes to fix the issues, however they shouldn't have re-flashed your ecm without your consent.

i'm getting my car chipped next thursday (super stoked) but the place thats doing it reassured me that if audi ever does reflash my ecu that they will chip it back no problem no cost to me as long as i can prove they reflashed it. and inconvienence but its still good to know i'm covered no matter what

you can also request audi contacts you if they are going to reflash your ecu

my advice to you is that you talk to the place that would be chipping your car and see if they will do that for you if not i say keep looking for other places to chip your car cause theres no need to spend 650 twice
