Default windshield advice

hey everyone. today i got a rock chip in my windshield, about the size of a thumb nail but not any bigger. It's right at the bottom center of the windshield, just barely into the little black dots that edge the whole windshield. so my questions are: will it be better to get that repaired at a reputable place like safe lite? or get the windshield replaced? and will that affect my rain sensing wipers at all? I really don't know how it senses that...so if this has happened to you what did you do and did it work? thanks for your input!

i repair my own and they dont look like the pros....my kit is less than ten bucks at auto zone but if you dont have a pro do it be prepared to live with the windshield scar.....depends upon how much money u want to put into a windshield...after90k i have 2 repairs on mine and many chips.

Get it repaired. I believe the sensor is at the top behind the rear view mirror.

iv used the repair kit from auto zone once before and it wasnt too bad. just take your time and follow the directions. as long as the crack doesnt go all the way thru the glass or spread out too much it should be fine. it wont make the chip invisible but it will seal it and stop it from spreading

I would not even bother if it is not hugely noticable. If it starts to crack most insurance will replace the whole thing for free and not even count towards your deductable. They will probably replace it now if it is bothering you.

That varies dramatically depending on such things as what insurance you have and what state you live in. My insurance only covers getting it repaired, and has the full deductible for getting it replaced.
