Unhappy Wrong Power Steering Fluid

Hi all,

I sadly made the mistake yesterday of putting the wrong power steering fluid in my car. There is a leak in it so most of it (if not all) is already out.
I drove around a little bit and then down to the mechanic with it.

How do I proceed from here?

Thanks all!

If you were putting power steering fluid in to begin with I suspect your power steering system was already leaking. If it's leaking all the fluid out it's time to change the part that is leaking. Do you know where it's leaking from? Figure that out first. Fix your car. Then put the proper power steering fluid in it.

It's leaking from the reservoir itself. I'm getting that fixed ASAP. However I'm just worried that due to me putting on the wrong fluid I might need to change other parts like the pump itself and so on.

You should be okay, just have the shop flush the system and replace with the correct fluid. Doesn't sound like it was in there long enough to due damage.
