B8 1.8 tsi CDH engine crank pulley (vibration damper) locking tool
Hi There,
I'm new to this forum. I currently live in the Western Cape area near Capetown South-Africa
I currently have a 2010 B8 1.8t .Automatic 8 speed
I want to replace the timing chain.
I have most of the special tools , the only thing I am short is the crank pulley (vibration damper) locking tool.
I can not find it anywhere locally. Online items at Ebay are ridiculous and the import costs are sometimes double the price of the item it self.
Here is my question:
If I can not find it locally, ( I know it will be more effort), could I remove the starter motor, then lock the crank in TDC , using a special tool connected on the gear on the flex plate instead with a tool made for that?
Does anyone know of local agents that don't charge your life for that Special tool ?
