I have a MB SLK280 but want something larger and better in bad weather. I pretty much ruled out the C300 (love the looks but rather boring to drive). My partner has a 3-Series so don't need another one. I have narrowed it down to the A4 2.0T vs the A5 2.0T. I find the A5 better looking (pretty obvious) and more comfortable (front seats seem better). The A4 is more practical and has a real sunroof. Thoughts? The drive is very similar.

Just went through exactly the same dilemma and decided to go with the A4. Practicality was the primary reason, and I actually like the openness of the cabin more in the A4...maybe that just makes me a sedan person in general. A5 is amazingly good looking, but the B8 A4 is pretty hot too, and much more practical. Not to mention easier on the wallet. Just my 2 cents as a 4 day long owner of a new B8. (Coming from a '98 A4, so maybe this is just "my car.")
