EPA warranty on catalytic converter
Hi,
My check engine light came on recently. Error code is P0420 "Catalyst system efficiency below threshold bank 1". Autozone tech says it is upstream O2 sensor. However, a quick search online shows very limited success for 02 sensor change. Most people says it is definitely cat converter. Has anyone experience this before?
Assuming it is cat, does anyone know about the EPA warranty 8 years/80,000 miles on major emission component such as the cat. If so can you share you experience with the dealer in submitting this claim? Thanks.
