High pitched fan/bearing noise?
I have a high pitched fan noise coming from the right hand side of the dash (passenger side) of my B8. It sounds like a ball bearing issue or something as the pitch gets higher as the fan speed goes up, and becomes very audible (to me, seemingly not to the mechanic at my audi dealership) when the fan is on low/1. When you turn the fan off, you can hear it spin down. Sometimes, a wonderful NYC pothole can hush the noise for a bit.
It's gotten worse over time, and surely wasn't there when I got it initially. Today I brought the car in for the 5000 mile service and got a loaner car where the sound was non-existent so I know it can't be a typical A4 thing.
With all that said, and horribly outlined, what part could it be that is acting up? I have to turn the radio on or the AC/heater off, just so the noise doesn't bother me
I'll be bringing it back in for service as early as tomorrow.

Here's the noise coming out most prominently from the passenger side of the dash.
Anybody have an idea what part that could be? Sounds like a loose or ungreased fan bearing to me...

Finally got it that damn noise fixed! Same dealership that said I was "hearing things" the last two times I brought it in, amazingly found the issue this time. From the blower fan -- The exact part I told them to listen to before. Business must be slow that they're actually trying to do right by their clientele this time around.

Here's the tech notes:
Client states noise when A/C or heater is on.
High pitched squeel more from right side vent area.
Used 5051. No code stored.
Found noise coming from blow motor.
R/R glove box. Replaced blow motor. Recheck for noise. OK.
(Sorry if you see this cross posted.)
