Hi everyone. Not sure if this is the right place to post this but my 2009 A4 won't start. I bought my car in September 2008 and hadn't had a problem with it until now. I can turn on the electronics (push the key in without stepping on the gas pedal), but can't get the engine to start. When I push the key in while stepping on the pedal, I keep hearing a stuttering noise and see the blinking "passenger airbag off" light. This keeps going until I release the key. Does anyone know what could cause this? Thanks a lot for your help.

 

could be the motor electronic relay or a dead brake light switch.

 

It could be the battery - apparently if one of the cells goes bad, there's still enough power to runs the accessories, but not start the engine.

My wife's RAV4 had the same symptoms (it's got a push-button start too). A new battery (under warranty) solved the problem.
