Is my Key not programmed no spark?
Hey guys, hope everyone is having a blessed day. I finally got around to swapping the motor in my b8. Got everything buttoned up but when I hit key it just cranks. I am not getting spark at all. Plenty of fuel but no spark. Looking for ideas on things to check.
All fuses in fuse panel are good. Wiring harness looks good, checked it. These 2 are what I've check so far.
Only Other thing I can think of is the key that I have. ITS BRAND NEW AND TO BE HONEST, I'VE NEVER HEARD CAR START WITH IT. HAD A KEY GUY SUPPOSEDLY PROGRAM IT, IT'S A GENUINE AUDI KEY DIRECTLY FROM AUDI TOO.
ANYONE????

Not sure if this would be any help but in the Saab world (where I am coming from but just bought an Audi) your symptoms are classic indications of a bad CPS (crankshaft position sensor). If the car computer can't tell where the crankshaft is it won't fire the plugs because it doesn't know where the engine is in it's rotation.
