Hi, hopefully someone may be able to help, ive had a grinding scratching noise on engine start up and slow speed ( it may be there whilst driving but i cant hear it) it does start and stop, but pretty much always there and has been for a year now with no obvious impact on driving or performance. Ive had two Audi specialist look at it, of which there were non committal and suggested it could be the DMF but, they then they wasnt sure as it didnt have any symptoms they would associate with a failing DMF.

Anyone have any idea based on the noise? The noise is the bottom of the engine, and with the bonnet open it cant be heard over engine nosie.
