^+1 Or wheel bearing. Is the noise at road speed or engine speed?

Stop driving your car. Take the upper timing belt cover off and check the timing belt for tension. If you are on the stock tensioner, your engine is a ticking time bomb. This is probably not the problem, bit it's possible, and certainly worth a look.
If this happens only under heavy load/acceleration, your engine might be detonating. Make sure you are using premium fuel. I used to detonate on hot hot summer days until I changed my plugs to the correct heat range and gap. I recommend NGK BKR7E. It's a heat range cooler than stock and is what is recomended if youre running ~20 psi.
If it was CV joints, it would mainly make the noise during a turn.
If it was a wheel bearing, it would make the noise at all times wether you are on the gas or not, and vary depending on how the weight of the car is distributed.

Wow, way too much effort to post all that with the site problems..

well its only when i barely touch the gas in 2nd a 3rd usually but when i give it a little more than just coasting / feathering the pedal i hear the noise. its not when im whipping down the highway or anything just when i barely touch the pedal. i dont know if i would call it a knocking noise its not real loud its almost like your running your hand across shutters fast its a pretty quiet noise to buts its annoying

Post back after you check your timing belt for tension. No ponit in speculating until you've got that out of the way.

it would nearly sound like you have an exhaust leak. I just had my car in today to take car of a similar noise that occurred in basically any driving gear when accelerating between about 1700 rpm and 3200 rpm. the only thing that they found was an exhaust leak behind a pipe clamp.
