My son's 200 has a leak in the coolant system. It seems to be coming from on top of the engine on the driver's side. There is a small device could be a solenoid or a small centrifugal pump(1.5" dia x 4 " long approx) that is leaking. There is a wire plugged into it.
What is this(so I know what part to order)? What is it's purpose(for my edification)? Best place to find it?
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciatied.

that is the afterrun coolant pump ... for cooling the car (motor/turbo) after driving
