Default 84 5000s - Interior temp sensor making racket

Hi group-

I just bought a 1984 5000s and posted an introduction in the new members area. This car has a few little problems that I need to get sorted. First, at all times the ignition is on, there is kind of a loud electric motor noise coming from up above the glove box. It is not the heater blower motor. I believe it's coming from the interitor temperature sensor that is connected to the little square vent in the dash. Is there a way to repair this part, or does it need to be replaced? Thanks....

Fixed it. It turned out it was the little motor that sucks air through the sensor. The impeller was dragging against the housing. Weird! My Peugeot has a similar system, but it needs nothing to force air through the sensor.
